The Chair is a short horror/thriller created by Director Michael Blakey, DOP Marc Bangera, and Editor Preston Carruthers. The film was created during the year long, post grad Digital Video program at Georgian College. Throughout the second semester the team planned, produced, shot , and edited the film.

The team was also able to raise over 1000$ to fund their film with the use of the crowd sourcing website Indiegogo and other donations.  With the donations from supporters the team was able to surpass their 750$ goal by almost 60% and fully fund the short film. The funding campaign can be found here.

Director and Writer. Mike is a graduate from the Georgian College Video Program as well as Georgian’s Photography Program with a knack for storytelling, specifically stories within the horror/thriller genre. Mike’s method of layering information within scenes makes the audience connect with his characters in a matter of minutes. As a director Mike has tunnel vision, which means he knows exactly what he needs to get out of his scenes and how to pull that out from the talent. Mikes skills amass to form a really unique style of filmmaking, a marriage of cool and creepy, which gives The Chair a feel like no other.
